Why stereotype?

We keep talking about the world having become a “small village”, but where do we fit in it?

We, human beings, have become citizens of this village in a process of mental migration.

Just like the early emigrants sought new life in a new land where they hoped to be free from political persecution, we tend to break all life barriers in order to attain our humanity.

The result is a hybrid or heterogeneous self that can no longer distinguish itself and that survives in an environment full of contradictions.

Still, we dare categorise, stigmatise and stereotype others according to meaningless concepts.

Why are we, even in our new small village, still doing this?

Is it human arrogance?
