Doing the right thing

Reading the article “Israel prepares lobbying strategy against Iran deal” (The Jordan Times, April 6, 2015), I was not totally surprised to read Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement saying that a “third alternative [would be] racheting up the pressure until you get a better deal”.
I think the world has had enough of his ignorant, arrogant, childish rhetoric.
Does he still believe that only Iran is calling for the annihilation of Israel?
Well, he is wrong. Many around the world wish it, having seen the atrocities committed by Israel in occupied Palestine.
Why does Israel not get rid of its hidden nuclear arsenal before pointing fingers at others?
Why should Israel be spared and the rest of the world be judged?
Israeli politicians need to grow up. They should stop being selfish and paranoid.
Rather, they should put an end to their country’s illegal occupation and settlement expansion in Palestine, thus doing the right thing.

Reading the Agence France-Presse article “Dozens of foreign diplomats seek asylum in Canada — media” (The Jordan Times, June 29, 2014) I was astonished by the reference to my country in a statement saying that “16 diplomats from countries such as Syria, Iraq, Greece, Honduras and even an American embassy staffer”, supposedly “requested asylum in Canada, motivated by the hope of better life” or because “they are aware of rights abuses in their homeland that they can no longer support”.
