AMMAN — The London Stock Exchange on Thursday welcomed a Jordanian delegation led by Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh during a visit to the United Kingdom for the Jordan-UK Business Forum.

According to a statement from the London Stock Exchange, the forum brings together Jordanian and British companies across multi sectors including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, information and communications technology, engineering and electronics, film and entertainment, tourism, medical tourism, infrastructure and textiles and apparel to explore opportunities for strategic partnerships, trade, investment and long-term economic cooperation.

Addressing participants, Abu Ghazaleh said Jordan should be viewed not simply as a domestic market but as a strategic gateway to the wider Middle East.

"Jordan is not a small market—it is the region's gateway. When you invest in Jordan, you are not investing in one economy; you are connecting to the wider Middle East," he said. "Our strategic location provides investors with a stable, secure base, which is beneficial for investors weighing regional exposure against regional risk."

Jordan's strategic location at the crossroads of the Gulf, Iraq, Syria and North Africa enables businesses to access markets representing hundreds of millions of consumers. Officials said the Kingdom offers investors preferential trade agreements, established logistics corridors and industrial zones that extend beyond its borders, positioning Jordan as a regional hub for trade and investment, a statement from the London Stock Exchange said.

According to the statement, Jordan’s economy is showing its resiliency in real time. Even amid regional headwinds, FDI grew 25 per cent in 2025, exports were up 11 per cent and average daily trading on the Amman Stock Exchange was up 176 per cent.

"These results are the product of a conscious, forward-looking investment agenda built on openness, transparency, predictability, competitiveness and long-term economic stability. The Kingdom has pursued significant policy reforms, established a clear investment roadmap, and introduced lucrative incentive packages. Continuing to widen opportunities for the private sector, strengthen regulatory framework, and building the conditions for sustainable, diversified investment across priority sectors," the statement said.
