AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah and Andrey Slepnev, Member of the Board and Minister in charge of Trade at the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a virtual meeting on Wednesday to discuss ways to enhance trade and economic cooperation between Jordan and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
According to a ministry statement, Qudah underscored the importance of Jordan’s partnership with the EAEU and its member states, noting that the Kingdom attaches great significance to this relationship.
He added that Jordan looks forward to expanding the scope of trade and economic cooperation in a way that serves mutual interests and supports economic growth, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Qudah said that deepening economic cooperation with the union would facilitate market access, expand trade flows, and create new opportunities for businesses in Jordan and EAEU member states, thereby enhancing investment prospects and delivering mutual benefit.
For his part, Slepnev stressed that EAEU member states attach great importance to developing mutually beneficial relations with Middle Eastern countries, highlighting the region’s strategic significance and its growing role in global trade and the wider economy.
He said the union views Jordan as a promising partner in the region, given its strategic location and enabling economic environment that supports cooperation and investment.
Slepnev added that trade between Jordan and the EAEU has witnessed notable growth and holds significant potential for further expansion in the coming period, in a way that serves the common interests of both sides.
The two sides affirmed that there are promising prospects for advancing trade and economic cooperation between Jordan and the EAEU, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening economic relations and boosting bilateral trade and investment opportunities, Petra reported.
