Jordan, EU to hold investment conference at Dead Sea on November 19

AMMAN — Jordan and the EU said on Wednesday that the Jordan-EU Investment Conference will be held on November 19 at the Dead Sea, under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah and with the participation of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

In a joint statement issued by the Ministry of Investment and the European Commission, both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing economic cooperation, supporting sustainable growth, and expanding trade and investment partnerships between Jordan and the EU.

The statement noted that the conference will serve as a platform bringing together investors, businesses, and financial institutions from Jordan and EU member states to explore promising investment opportunities in the Kingdom.

Discussions will focus on partnership prospects in several priority sectors, including renewable energy, clean technologies, the digital economy, manufacturing, logistics, and infrastructure.

The conference is part of the strategic and comprehensive partnership between Jordan and the EU launched in early 2025, which is backed by a 3 billion euros financial and investment package for the 2025–2027 period.

The event will also highlight several strategic projects that embody the depth of the Jordan-EU partnership, the statement said.

Minister of Investment Tareq Abughazaleh said that the Economic Modernisation Vision has provided a clear roadmap to support sustainable growth, innovation, and the investment environment, enhancing Jordan's position as a reliable partner and an attractive destination for high-quality investments.

He added that the conference represents a major milestone in translating the Jordan-EU partnership into concrete investment opportunities and projects.

EU Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Šuica emphasised that Jordan is a key partner for the EU and a vital bridge connecting Europe with the Middle East.

She noted that the conference reflects a mutual desire to transform the strategic partnership into tangible opportunities for businesses, investors, and citizens alike, helping attract further investments, support innovation, and create jobs.
