AMMAN — Preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) shows that total worker remittances to the Kingdom increased by 14.5 per cent during the first five months of 2026, reaching $2,062.1 million.
Meanwhile, outbound remittances from the Kingdom rose by 15.0 per cent to reach $806.7 million, according to the CBJ.
The data reveals that inbound remittances from the United Arab Emirates ranked first, accounting for 21.9 per cent of the total, followed by the United States at 19.9 per cent, Saudi Arabia at 17.9 per cent, Qatar at 9.5 per cent, and Kuwait at 5.4 per cent.
Other countries accounted for the remaining 25.4 per cent of total inbound remittances, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Regarding outbound remittances, Egypt was the primary destination for transfers from the Kingdom, accounting for 41.1 per cent of the total.
Bangladesh followed at 11.8 per cent, the Philippines at 4.9 per cent, and Palestine at 4.1 per cent, while other countries made up the remaining 38.1 per cent of total outbound transfers.
