AMMAN — The Economic Policy Development Forum (EPDF), initiated by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organisation (TAG-Org), decided on Saturday to seek the opinions of its members and related parties in the chambers of commerce and industry on all economy related studies before endorsement. EPDF member Yousef Mansour said: “We do not need a Jordan with high growth rates without employment,” noting that although the Kingdom’s economic performance was strong in 2004-2008, with a real growth average of 8 per cent, employment rates were not high. He noted that, against economic norms, unemployment in Jordan drops whenever economic growth declines, questioning the benefits of growth if it does not provide job opportunities for Jordanians.
