AMMAN — Chairman of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce Issam Ghreiwati has expressed his appreciation to Jordan and the Ministry of Interior following the decision to grant new facilities to Syrian investors and businesspeople.
Ghreiwati noted the decision is "pivotal," noting that it reflects the Kingdom's commitment to supporting Syrian investors and business leaders while strengthening economic and trade ties between the two nations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Chairman highlighted the positive step of allowing families of Syrian investors and business leaders, who hold premium and first-class membership cards from Syrian chambers of commerce, to enter the Kingdom without prior approval.
He noted that the move will facilitate business operations, promote economic dialogue, and open new avenues for joint cooperation.
Ghreiwati added that these facilities will help streamline the movement of business leaders, encourage the exchange of goods and services and foster trade and investment partnerships between Syria and Jordan to benefit both nations.
Ghrewati expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Damascus for their ongoing efforts to support economic relations and address challenges facing the business community.
Under the Interior Ministry's decision, family members of Syrian investors and business leaders holding premium and first-class membership cards issued by Syrian chambers of commerce, specifically spouses and children under the age of 18, are permitted to enter the Kingdom without prior approval.
