Fighting the use of tobacco in Jordan
Jun 21,2017 - Last updated at Jun 21,2017
Tobacco Free Jordan and Al Marji’ Publications have recently signed a cooperation agreement, under which the two sides have agreed to fight the use of tobacco in the country.
“We are proud of our continuous collaboration with Al Marji’ Publications, which shares our vision of fighting the epidemic of tobacco use in Jordan.
Together, and through the articles in Family Flavours and Nakahat ‘Ailiyeh, we are able to communicate awareness messages to the larger community, especially parents,” said Faten Hanania-Haddad, president of Tobacco Free Jordan.
Founding member of Tobacco Free Jordan, Zeina Shahzada-Majali, signed the agreement on behalf of the not-for-profit organisation, which aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects of smoking and second-hand smoke among children and youth, and to lobby for enforcement of tobacco control legislations in Jordan.“
