AMMAN — The Millennium Challenge Account – Jordan (MCA-Jordan) held an event in Zarqa city on Tuesday “to celebrate three years in integrating gender within the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s (MCC) Compact in Jordan”, the company said in a statement.

MCC, a US government agency, is financing wastewater and water projects in Zarqa Governorate through a $275 million grant programme.

The MCA has recruited “over 104 women in full-time jobs” and 100 women from the local community in part-time jobs, the statement quoted MCA-Jordan CEO Kamal Zoubi as saying.

Social Development Minister Reem Abu Hassan and US Ambassador to Jordan Alice G. Wells attended the ceremony.
