UJ celebrates White Cane Day

AMMAN — The University of Jordan (UJ) has implemented measures to ease the difficulties the blind may face inside the campus, UJ President Ekhleif Tarawneh said Thursday.
At a ceremony organised by the UJ student affairs deanship on the occasion of International White Cane Day, Tarawneh said equality among students tops UJ’s goals.
Amal Nahhas, secretary general of the Higher Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities, said the UN has decided to celebrate the occasion annually on October 15 to raise awareness on blind people’s rights and needs.
