Touching

Feb 24,2015 - Last updated at Feb 24,2015

Having read the article “Breaking up is hard to do” (The Jordan Times, February 17, 2015) by the British ambassador to Jordan, I can say, as many would, that he really touched our hearts during his four-year stay in our country.

He was always a good mentor. He became part of the Jordanian family, which is not easy.

Reading his articles in The Jordan Times and getting constructive feedback and suggestions made each of us realise and accept his viewpoints.

That takes talent, as negativity in our world, especially from a foreigner, is not taken well.

The ambassador was always the first to appreciate our traditions, our mansaf and our land.

He has been there for us at the grass-roots level.

His suggestions were taken seriously.

Even if I did not meet the ambassador personally, he felt close to the heart.

I thank him for being there when Jordan needed him most, and wish him and his family a safe passage home.
