AMMAN - Police on Tuesday arrested three people who were attempting to buy jewellery from a shop using fake credit cards, Public Security Department (PSD) Spokesperson Lt. Col. Mohammad Khatib said.

The department received a complaint from a credit card company on attempts to withdraw money using counterfeit credit cards.

PSD personnel launched an investigation into the issue and arrested the three individuals, who are of East Asian nationality, he said.

Khatib noted that the department seized around 93 fake credit cards found with the suspects, who confessed to the crime and were referred to the judiciary.
