AMMAN — A Syrian investor will be establishing a factory to produce food and confectionery at Al Hussein Industrial Estate in Karak at a cost of JD1 million.

An agreement to this effect was signed Saturday between the Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC) and the investor, Mamoun Akrami.

The agreement only covers the first phase of the project, which will provide 50 job opportunities, Akrami indicated.

According to JIEC’s Director General Loay Sehwail, the Karak Industrial Estate includes 18 investment projects valued at JD34 million and providing 3,000 job opportunities.
