AMMAN — The Jordan Nurses and Midwives Association (JNMA) on Sunday demanded that the technical allowance of nurses and midwives working at public universities and their hospitals be raised to 120 per cent.

JNMA President Mohammad Hatamleh claimed the current allowance they receive was unreasonable.

The association had earlier announced that nurses working for the Ministry of Health and the University of Jordan Hospital will start an open-ended strike on February 25 to demand an increase to their technical allowance, in addition to other fringe benefits.
