AMMAN — The American Nurses Credentialing Centre (ANCC) has awarded its President’s Special Award to HRH Princess Muna for her lifetime commitment to and support of nursing as a profession, a Royal Court statement said Sunday.

The President’s Special Award is given to an individual for contributions in support of the ANCC’s mission at the discretion of the group’s president.

“HRH Princess Muna Al Hussein has made a lifetime commitment to support nursing excellence,” the statement quoted ANCC President Michael Evans as saying.

“We are so proud to present this much-deserved award to HRH Princess Muna Al Hussein for her visionary leadership and years of dedication in continuing the pursuit of excellence,” Evans added.

The princess also awarded Dr Stephanie Ferguson the Princess Muna Al Hussein Award in recognition of her “significant contributions to healthcare across borders” and her dedication to nursing.

Also during a recent visit to the US, Princess Muna visited Thomas Jefferson University in support of its new partnership with the Royal Medical Services.

While in the United States, she also met Jordanian nurses and physicians training at the university’s hospital, the statement said.
