AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Monday received the director of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Abdulwahab Al Bader, and expressed Jordan’s appreciation for the Kuwaiti support as part of a $5-billion Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) grant.

Ensour reviewed the burden Jordan is shouldering as a result of hosting large numbers of Syrian refugees, noting that international aid in this regard did not exceed 29 per cent of the total hosting cost.

For his part, Bader commended bilateral ties between the two countries, noting that supporting Jordan is a must, especially under the circumstances the Middle East is facing.

Planning and International Cooperation Minister Ibrahim Saif and Central Bank of Jordan Governor Ziad Fariz attended the meeting.
