Safadi meets leaders on Gulf countries tour

AMMAN — Bahraini King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa on Wednesday received Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, who conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah's greetings to the Bahraini monarch and wishes of further progress and prosperity to the Bahraini people.

The meeting, which was attended by Bahraini Minister of the Royal Court Khalid Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, focused on means to enhance bilateral relations and ways to bolster cooperation and coordination at various levels, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

King Hamad praised the "brotherly and historical" ties between the two kingdoms and stressed keenness to improve them in all fields.

King Hamad also commended Jordan's stance on Bahrain and its role in defending Arab and Islamic causes, as well as enhancing regional and international security, stability and peace.

For his part, Safadi hailed the efforts of the Bahraini King to promote relations between Amman and Manama, and his country's role in supporting joint Arab action, stressing Jordan's rejection of any threats to the security and stability of Bahrain. 

Meanwhile, Safadi and his Bahraini counterpart discussed prospects of increasing bilateral cooperation, and went over the latest regional developments focusing on the efforts exerted to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution, the Syrian crisis and the war on terrorism.

The two misters also reiterated the need for intensifying efforts aimed at achieving regional security and stability.

Also on Wednesday night, Safadi met with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

During the meeting, Safadi extended King Abdullah’s greetings, on the occasion of Ramadan, and his best wishes to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, wishing further progress and prosperity to the UAE.

Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed discussed ways to boost and improve relations between the two countries in various fields, in order to serve their common interests, Petra added.

 

The crown prince of Abu Dhabi conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid to King Abdullah and wished Jordanians more prosperity and progress.
