AMMAN — Motorsport fans are in for a real treat when a spectacular Friday of thrills and spills is being organised by Jordan Motorsport, to launch its record year of events.

Taking place at the Dead Sea Service Park, opposite the hotels area, a double dose of National Championships round one action will be held back-to-back with a feast of festivities taking place on the side lines to make it a family weekend for all.

The action will get under way at 8am when the opening round of the 2019 Jordan Speed Test Championship will be held, and it will be followed in the afternoon by the first round of the gripping Jordan Drift Championship.

The event is expected to draw a huge crowd with the advice to arrive early. Entry is just JD5. The Speed Test will welcome up to 51 drivers, including 2018 champion, Husam Salem, with other crowd favourites entered including 2018 runner-up Mohammed Tayseer and Ghaith Wreikat.

The Drifting, with an entry field of 37 teams, promises to be an edge-of-the-seat affair with the top drivers, including reigning champion Mohammed Al Foqahaa and his nearest rivals Raafat Haroun and Ahmad Al Jabali, all signed up to start the season this Friday.

The event double header launches an ambitious year for Jordan Motorsport with a record number of events planned, including the Jordan Rally in April and September’s FIA Jordan Baja, a round of the inaugural FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Bajas.
