UNRWA commends Jordan, Egypt and Sweden’s support

AMMAN — Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid said that UNRWA Commissioner General Pierre Krähenbühl praised Jordan and Egypt’s role in supporting the agency, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.

Abu Zeid also commended the co-chairmanship of Jordan, Egypt and Sweden in supporting Rome’s conference last March on the agency, which helped securing $100 million additional funding to the organisation. UNRWA underscored the role that was played by Egypt as the chair of UNRWA’s advisory commission last year.

Krähenbühl voiced appreciation for Egypt’s fundamental support for the agency activities through this serious phase UNRWA is undergoing, financially and politically.
