Two Maan power stations shot at by gunmen

AMMAN — The electricity distribution company in Maan, 220km south of Amman, said that two power stations in the Husseiniya district were shot at by unidentified gunmen on Thursday morning, causing damage to the facilities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The director of electricity in Maan, Mohammad Mazaydeh, said that a station located on the desert road of the Hashimiyah area in the Husseiniya District was damaged by the gunfire.
He said that the technical staff from the company disconnected the station and was able to restore electricity in the area, pointing out that the power outage lasted for one hour and affected 1,800 people.
In another incident, Mazaydeh said that a power transformer was shot at in Husseiniya in the Rawdat Hashim area, causing a power outage. A technical team from the company was working to restore the power supply, the director added.
