AMMAN — The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on Wednesday led a capacity-building workshop under the EU-funded project “Technical Assistance to the Skills for Employment and Social Inclusion Programme for Jordan”. The workshop brought together stakeholders, from both the public and private sectors, who work in the employment, technical and vocational education and training (E-TVET) sector, according to a joint statement sent to The Jordan Times. The workshop aimed to train stakeholders on partnership building practices between public and private operators in E-TVET.

The statement added that the workshop also covered existing public-private partnerships (PPPs) in Jordan, best practices as well as ways to tackle some of the challenges of the partnerships.

“The effective PPPs are the backbone for success in the E-TVET sector, bringing benefits to all parties involved in the partnership. Moreover, PPPs are beneficial for individuals, especially for those disadvantaged in the labour market, as well as for employers, in order [for them] to get the required skilled labour force,” said Luba Pavlovova, an E-TVET expert.
