AMMAN — Tap water in Jordan conforms to Jordanian and World Health Organisation (WHO) standards for drinkable water, said production manager at Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna) Haitham Kilani on Sunday.
The Water Ministry and Miyahuna set up several specifications and standards to ensure the quality of drinking water, according to an official statement by the water company, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Kilani said that the company conducts 400,000 annual tests, including water resources and pipelines, to provide healthy, drinkable water for citizens.
He confirmed that intermittent turbidity is detected immediately and is processed on the spot. In such cases, the water pumps are suspended, until the water is purified.
