AMMAN — The Social Security Corporation (SSC) is burdened with an increase of those who want early retirement, as in 2015, a total of 7,362 received early retirement, constituting 62 per cent of all retirees that year among a total of 11,904, an SSC statement said Tuesday.

Early retirement is earned based on a request from the employee who meets the required conditions and the employer has no right to refer employees to early retirement against their wishes, SSC Spokesperson Musa Subaihi said in the statement.

Both male and female subscribers can ask for early retirement at the age of 45 if they have completed 25 years of subscription. In addition, subscribers aged 50 with subscriptions of no less than 21 years for males and 19 years for females can request early retirement.
