AMMAN — The Ministry of Social Development, through a grant from the Ford Foundation, has started the execution of “Economical and Psychological Buildup and Recovery of Jordanian Women” Project in coordination with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO).
The project aims to implement numerous empowerment and awareness sessions and courses for vulnerable women in three governorates, according to a statement from the JHCO.
The project consists of three main pillars which aim to empower and train women in abuse rehabilitation houses affiliated with the ministry. The pillars also intend to establish home nurseries and carry out green economy projects to reach more than 350 Jordanian beneficiaries.
The training sessions revolve around psychological awareness, vocational training and creating job opportunities within a designated timeline to ensure positive results for beneficiaries and their communities.
The ministry, along with the JHCO, due to a vast experience in implementing similar projects, will work to monitor and evaluate the project to guarantee best results.
The ministry also plans to reach out to the abuse rehabilitation houses and provide them with services and establish home-based nurseries adhering to ministry regulations and policy, the statement said.
