Several Amman streets to be closed for Friday marathon

AMMAN — The directorate of public relations and information at the Public Security Department announced the closure of a number of streets leading to the tracks of the Amman International Marathon 2017, which is held today, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.

The roads will close at 4:30am on Friday, and will reopen after the marathon.

The marathon includes three main races, a 42km run starting at 6am from the road opposite the Amman Municipality building in Ras Al Ain, a 21km race starting at 6am from the Raghdan Bridge and a 10km race which will start at 9am from the Sports City Gate 1. All races will end at Hashemite Square.

Traffic Department personnel will provide the necessary assistance by guiding motorists along alternative routes.
