AMMAN — The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) and the Arab Bank on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding to implement community and environmental initiatives in Southern Ghour.

The project aims at increasing environmental awareness and improving living standards in Fifa through biodiversity projects including home gardens, water treatment and solid-waste-sorting, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Director of the Arab Bank’s branding department, Tareq Hassan, said that cooperation with the RSCN comes in line with the bank’s efforts to support sustainable community development, adding that the Fifa initiative is expected to create new job opportunities for the local community.

Director general of the RSCN, Yahia Khaled, expressed his pride over the society’s cooperation with the Arab Bank, adding that it contributes to enhancing the national economy.

He also said that the Fifa model will be transferred to other villages near nature reserves.

According to Petra, the Arab Bank has recently adopted holistic and integrated strategies to help boost environmental, social and economic development.
