Public-private partnership seeks to raise awareness of thyroid diseases
By JT - Nov 02,2016 - Last updated at Nov 02,2016
AMMAN — The Royal Health Awareness Society is partnering with Merck, a science and technology company, to advance health awareness and education, particularly on thyroid diseases amongst Jordanian women, according to a statement released earlier this week. Women are five to eight times more likely to suffer from thyroid disorders than men, the statement said.
The memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides “is part of the global Healthy Women, Healthy Economies initiative”, a public-private partnership that links the issue of women’s health and well-being with economic growth, the statement added.
