AMMAN — Amman Prosecutor General Abdullah Abu Ghanam on Saturday issued a gagging order over the investigation into the Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea poisoning incident.

He noted that the investigation will be completed by the end of next week and banned the media from reporting on the case, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

A mother and her son contracted food poisoning last month and died after dining at a restaurant in the resort.

Tests carried out by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration on samples of the leftover food ordered by the family from the hotel’s pool restaurant and taken to their room revealed high concentrations of the Bacillus cereus bacteria.

Tests showed that food from the hotel’s kitchens conformed to health standards.
