AMMAN — Planning and International Cooperation Minister Imad Fakhoury on Wednesday attended the inauguration of the National Unified Registry and Outreach Programme for Targeting Social Assistance.
The project, supervised by the ministry and funded by the World Bank, is aimed at combating poverty through collecting accurate data on targeted families, according to a ministry statement.
Fakhoury said the programme aims at developing a network of trained social workers, reaching some 22,400 Jordanian families, whose monthly income is below JD200 each, with a focus on Zarqa, Irbid and Maan in the programme’s pilot phase.
