AMMAN — HRH Princess Basma Bint Ali on Monday attended an award ceremony for the winners of Balqa University’s 2020/2021 competition for the extra-virgin olive oil.

The competition, the first of its kind that meets world standards on the occasion of the Jordan’s centennial, was organised by the university’s faculty of agriculture, the General Syndicate of Olive Oil Press Owners and Producers and the Jordanian Women’s Network for Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

On the sidelines of the event, the princess inaugurated an exhibition showcasing olive oil products and participated in planting olive trees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The princess presented awards and medals to the winners. Fifteen farmers participated in the competition through submitting samples of their olive oil. Manaseer Group’s Jordan Modern Food Industries Company received the golden award.
