PM chairs meeting to follow up on pandemic repercussions

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Saturday chaired the meeting of the higher committee of addressing the impacts posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health Minister Nathir Obeidat and Wael Hayajneh, the official in charge of the COVID-19 crisis, briefed the gathering on the latest developments of the Kingdom’s epidemiological situation.
During the meeting, the committee discussed the suggested alternatives related to dealing with the epidemiological situation amid the new changes, with the committee agreed on monitoring the situation during the coming days, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The premier directed the ministries and related bodies to tighten control to ensure individuals and institutions’ adherence to public safety measures.
Talks also went over the latest developments related to vaccination measures, especially efforts towards providing more COVID-19 jabs from authorised sources, as well as intensifying communications with producers.
