AMMAN — Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Kisbi has said that the secretary general and the field directors have the powers vested in him duly, the Jordan News agency, Petra, reported on Thursday.
Kisbi explained that this step fosters decentralisation, noting that the entire ministry’s staff should perform their duties in full compliance with laws, regulations and the code of ethics so as to foster transparency, competitiveness and good governance.
He also stressed the importance of accuracy while preparing the road construction projects and not referring any tender before ensuring the availability of the necessary financial allocations as well as avoiding changing the tender referrals.
The minister called on the field directors to cooperate with the administrative rulers and the local and decentralised councils in the various governorates to discuss projects and issue approvals, according to the priorities and needs of these areas.
