Media’s role vital in raising social awareness — Ghunaimat

AMMAN — Minister of State for Media Affairs Jumana Ghunaimat on Thursday highlighted the role of media outlets in “constructing national rhetoric that enhances social awareness”.

While delivering a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defence College, Ghunaimat said that over the years, Jordan has managed to face local and external challenges with unity and cohesion.

Internal challenges, mainly economic, such as poverty and unemployment, have coincided with rapid regional and international developments starting with the financial crisis, and the disruption in import of Egyptian gas, the Arab spring and the various refugee crises, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
