AMMAN — Deputising for Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tareq Hammouri on Thursday opened the “Made in Jordan” exhibition at Al Hassan Sports City in Irbid.
The expo, organised by the Made in Jordan Initiative in cooperation with Amman and Irbid chambers of commerce, and the Jordan University of Science and Technology, aims to enhance the confidence of Jordanians in the local industry and change their way of purchasing, in addition to pushing young people to buy national products.
Hammouri said that the industrial sector is a main tributary of the Kingdom’s economy, and stressed the importance of the public and private sector partnership to empower the sector, enable it to reach new markets and contribute to the general development process in Jordan.
He noted that the Investment Law 40 of 2014 stipulates granting incentives to encourage investment, and drafting strategies and polices to improve the industrial sector.
