AMMAN — The Lower House’s legal committee on Monday approved the draft law amending the Human Trafficking Law of 2019 and the draft law ratifying US-Jordan Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty of 2016, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Human Trafficking Law stipulates implementing increased punitive measures against perpetrators, providing protection and care for victims of human trafficking, using modern technology to protect witnesses below the age of 18 and establishing a fund at the Ministry of Justice to assist victims financially.

The latter bolsters cooperation through mutual legal assistance in penal matters to combat and prevent crime.
