Lamb and goat population declined last year

AMMAN — The number of lambs in the period from November 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015 decreased by 0.3 per cent compared to the same period between 2013 and 2014, a Department of Statistics’ (DoS) report showed Thursday.
Initial results of a DoS survey conducted on the number of lambs showed the population fell from 2,857,783 heads in the 2013-2014 period to around 2,848,898 heads in the 2014-2015 period.
The same survey also showed a 3.8 per cent drop in goat numbers from 950,265 heads in the 2013-2014 period to 914,190 in the 2014-2015 period.
