King discusses Faisali fans’ arrest, Alexandria train crash with Sisi

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday thanked Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi for the Egyptian authorities’ cooperation in releasing the fans of Jordan’s Al Faisali football team, who were detained after the Arab Clubs Championship’s final match held in Egypt earlier this month. He stressed his rejection of any form of football hooliganism, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty and the Egyptian president also discussed the latest regional developments, especially the Palestinian cause. During the phone call, King Abdullah also expressed his condolences over the Alexandria train crash. Two trains collided in the Egyptian coastal city on Friday killing at least 42 people and injuring 133 others, Reuters reported quoting the health ministry.
