AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday congratulated the nation on the occasion of Ramadan. In a tweet posted on His Majesty’s page, the King wrote: “Wishing Jordanians and the Arab and Islamic Ummah a blessed Ramadan.

May it be full of mercy and compassion, Ramadan Mubarak #ABH”. Ramadan starts on Thursday in Jordan and several Muslim countries as the timing is determined by the sighting of the new moon.

On the occasion, His Majesty received several cables of felicitation from heads of state and senior officials in Arab and Islamic countries, as well as from top-ranking local officials and army officers.

HRH Crown Prince Hussein also tweeted “As we begin our #Ramadan fast, we pray for peace, blessings and well-being in #OurJordan and our Islamic Ummah. Ramadan Mubarak! “He received congratulatory cables as the country joins the Muslim world in observing the fasting month.
