King congratulates nation on Ramadan

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday congratulated the nation on the occasion of Ramadan.
In a tweet posted on the Royal Hashemite Court’s page, His Majesty wrote: “Wishing Jordanians and the Arab and Islamic Ummah a blessed Ramadan. May it be full of mercy and compassion, Ramadan Mubarak #ABH”.
Ramadan starts Thursday in Jordan and several Muslim countries as the timing is determined by the sighting of the new moon.
On the occasion, His Majesty received several cables of felicitation from heads of state and senior officials in Arab, Islamic and foreign countries, as well as from top-ranking local officials and army officers.
King Abdullah also exchanged congratulations over the phone with leaders of neighbouring countries on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, including Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz.
He also exchanged congratulations with several princes, sheikhs and leading figures in sister Arab states.
HRH Crown Prince Hussein also received congratulatory cables as the country joins the Islamic world in observing the fasting month.
