King checks on implementation of PSD security strategy

His Majesty voices pride in personnel, their role in safeguarding security, stability

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), visited on Tuesday the Public Security Department (PSD) and met with its Director Maj. Gen. Fadel Hmoud.

King Abdullah was briefed by Maj. Gen. Hmoud on the security strategy that the PSD has been implementing, a Royal Court statement said.

His Majesty voiced his pride in PSD personnel and their role in safeguarding the security and stability of the homeland, praising the efforts of various police units in combating crime and upholding the rule of law in the service and protection of citizens and residents.

The King also commended PSD personnel for their high level of professionalism, lauding the quality of the training they receive to raise their efficiency and develop their abilities, according to the statement.

For his part, Hmoud confirmed that the PSD is implementing His Majesty’s directives, harnessing all available technical and human resources in order to improve the quality of the services it provides to citizens and coordinating at the highest levels with the JAF and other security agencies to safeguard Jordan’s security and stability.

During the visit, the King checked on a number of modern and technically-equipped vehicles that have been introduced to service to raise the level of police performance and increase the efficiency of their security operations.

His Majesty joined for lunch a group of officers who briefed him on the tasks and duties they carry out within their scope of work, the statement added.
