AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday attended a military ceremony held by the United Kingdom’s Light Dragoons, which cooperates with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.

The ceremony included a number of military exercises conducted by officers in the Light Dragoons, the oldest light cavalry regiment in the British army, according to a Royal Court statement.

Upon arrival, King Abdullah was received by the regiment’s commander.

His Majesty, who returned to the Kingdom later in the day, was briefed on the regiment’s facilities and mandate, especially peacekeeping and NATO-related operations.

The King trained with the Light Dragoons after graduating from Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

His Majesty also attended a dinner banquet that was held in his honour in the presence of regiment officers.
