JTA threatens escalation against arrest of educators implicated in Dead Sea tragedy

By JT - Nov 08,2018 - Last updated at Nov 08,2018

AMMAN — The Jordan Teachers Association’s (JTA) council on Thursday postponed a meeting scheduled to discuss the repercussions of the public prosecutor’s decision to arrest a number of employees at the Amman Education Directorate, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Teachers were to discuss a strike next Sunday to press the government to free the detainees implicated in the Dead Sea incident.

In a statement, the JTA criticised the arrest of educators and Education officials as “scapegoats”, and threatened escalatory steps against the measure.
