AMMAN — A team of students from Princess Rahma Elementary School for Girls has participated in the global robotics Olympics "FIRST global", which took place at George Washington University in Washington, DC, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday.

The Jordanian team, made up of six students, competed alongside 160 international teams in the seven-day championship.

The Jordan Education Initiative implemented in Princess Rahma School has offered “all kinds of moral and technical support” to the participating students in collaboration with the Education Ministry, which covered part of the cost, Petra reported.

The Jordanian robot is based on “the simulation and application of the academic curriculum in the disciplines of programming, engineering, physics and mathematics, in addition to problem solving through creativity and development of individual skills and self-reliance”, the team members said, as quoted by Petra.
