AMMAN — An EU-funded media grant worth 250,000 euros was recently awarded to 10 Jordanian organisations to advance human rights in the Kingdom, according to a statement sent by the EU. The civil society organisations were winners of a competition aimed at using media to advocate for human rights, with an emphasis on women’s rights.
The organisations signed the grant, managed by the Community Media Network, in the presence of the EU ambassador to Jordan, Andrea Fontana. The competition drew nearly 100 Jordanian entries from NGOs, according to the statement, which added that the grants were part of a three-year project aimed at empowering women.
