AMMAN — The Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv is following up on the case of citizen Yaseen Ararawi, who is detained by Israeli authorities, the Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday.
Ararawi and family members were heading to the West Bank through the King Hussein Bridge to participate in the funeral of his father in Jenin, but Israeli authorities arrested him on the bridge and allowed his wife and children access to the other side, a ministry source told The Jordan Times.
Family members tried to return to the Kingdom, but Israeli authorities banned them, the source, who preferred to be unnamed, said. The ministry is following up with Ararawi's son and brother in Amman and with the embassy to know the reasons for arresting Ararawi and the travel ban against his relatives.
