AMMAN — Senate President Abdur-Ra’uf S. Rawabdeh on Wednesday met a Thai government delegation of artificial rain experts.

Rawabdeh praised the cooperation between the two countries in this field, noting that Jordanians are eager to see the results of the joint project that will greatly benefit the country.

He said that positive results of the project will enable the Kingdom to receive funding from countries and international commissions to raise the level of rainfall in Jordan.

Also on Wednesday, Transport Minister Lina Shbeeb met with the delegation to discuss the project.

Thai Ambassador Piriya Khempon underlined her country’s keenness to train Jordanians to equip them with the skills needed to embark on the project and noted that environmental circumstances are suitable for artificial rain in Jordan, which suffers from water scarcity.
