Jordan, Japan eye closer cooperation

AMMAN — Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and a visiting delegation of Japanese lawmakers on Wednesday discussed ways to boost bilateral ties.
Discussions also addressed the crisis in Syria and its repercussions on neighbouring countries, including Jordan which has more than 600,000 refugees.
The two sides also reviewed the developments in Iraq, and efforts to achieve peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis in a manner that leads to the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state.
The Japanese delegation expressed its appreciation of Jordan’s role in support of efforts to achieve regional peace and stability, underscoring Japan’s commitment to developing its cooperation with Jordan.
