Jordan ‘ideal gateway’ for profitable opportunities for US-based companies, says Hanandeh

AMMAN — Jordan has become a "strategic and ideal gateway” for sustainable growth and profitable opportunities for US-based companies, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh said on Tuesday.

The minister’s remarks came during a webinar titled "The Power of Partnership: Expanding US Business Operations into Jordan", organised by the Jordan Source programme in partnership with the US embassy in Amman. 

The Jordan Source programme seeks to connect businesses, investors and entrepreneurs from across the globe with the resources they need, according to its website.

Hanandeh said that the ministry is keen to strengthen and enrich partnerships and cooperation with US companies and entrepreneurs, which contribute to further attracting new investments to the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He added that after the success of the Jordan promotional tour as a destination for investment in the technology and digitisation sector, carried out in the US in March, this symposium complements ongoing efforts to facilitate and strengthen relations with the US business and technology community. 

The webinar discussed topics including the extent of participation, cooperation between stakeholders from the public and private sectors, and the potential, advantages and prospects of the Kingdom's ICT sector.
