AMMAN — Royal Court Secretary General Yousef Issawi and Minister of Public Works and Housing Sami Halasa on Wednesday checked on the industrial estate project in Madaba.

The project, whose foundation stone was laid by His Majesty King Abdullah during his visit to Madaba in November, 2016, aims at attracting investment to the area and providing jobs for local residents, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Issawi,  who is also head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, said that the estate is located on the King’s Highway and is established on a 497-dunum plot of land that is allocated for the two phases of the estate.

Chief Executive Officer of the Jordan Industrial Estate Company Jalal Dabai said that the project’s value is JD11 million, 60 per cent of which was secured by a Saudi grant.
